Description:
- An example of a logo designed for a business.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):
- I used Adobe Illustrator to design the logo. The logo took more thought to keep it simple. I typed the “B” in a separate text box to lower it from the rest of the top of the title. I used the pen tool to draw the camera shape. With the ellipse tool I formed the teal circle behind the second “O” in the word “photography.” After forming the rectangle of the camera I used the scissor tool to remove parts of the outline to prevent overlap with the title. I aligned the top of the title with the bottom of the title using the tracking option in Illustrator.
Message:
- Both fonts are fairly trendy using a vintage script on the top and a modern look on the bottom. The fonts reflect the photography business where clients often look for vintage and modern styled photos.
Audience:
- Clients looking for a photographer.
Top Thing Learned:
- I spent a lot of time working on different logos, but after asking for an opinion vote I realized simplicity won the majority of the time. The designs previously looked well, but the complexity hindered the memorable aspect of the logo.
Color Scheme and Color Names:
- Split Complementary
- Orange, Teal, and Red
Title / Body Font Names & Categories:
- Top Title: Lighthouse (Script)
- Bottom Title: Rounded Elegance (Sans Serif)

This logo is amazing! I love the camera. It really brings your message home. The white space in the design flows easily. Your colors definitely catch the audience’s eyes. Check out my blog:https://sarahaustinblog.wordpress.com

Dude, love the design!! I think it’s pretty darn clever how you incorporated the camera lens into the wording. Also the font you used for the title is a really good choice, it really gives it a good elegant look that would speak well to your audience. The color scheme is effective too, really bright and grabbing! I think you kept it simple enough to appeal to the eyes and added the right amount of subtle complexity throughout the design as well! Fantastic work man!
